Aware of the importance of collaboration between university and business, not just in the development and training of future professionals, but also in the knowledge expansion in the business world and the generation of opinions of general interest, in September 2006 MANGO and ESCI-UPF started a partnership agreement which is specified in the “MANGO Chair in Corporate Social Responsibility”.
There is a mutual interest in in deepening the study of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and, in general, analysing the sustainability of economic and business activity. As part of this Chair, ESCI-UPF and MANGO expect to generate knowledge, analysis and debate on these issues and at the same time, to translate these reflections to the public. In this regard, the Chair’s initiatives are based on fostering research activities in CSR and related areas.
In this spirit we consider that the Chair must act as a conjunction and meeting point between the various companies, institutions and entities linked to CSR, and that all of them can contribute to the different projects and research studies being conducted.

In order to advise the MANGO Chair in its activities, the Advisory Council of the MANGO Chair in Corporate Social Responsibility was created. This Council is made up of renowned people in the field of CSR and that are linked to representative business, administrative, social and academic organizations. The main function of the Advisory Council is to identify relevant issues and current trends that allow feeding the lines of work promoted by the MANGO Chair.
